Room was spacious, and had kind of living room as well + in my case private bathroom. Old japanese ryokan tatami floors/futon beds hotel in the heart of one of the most insane pulsing red light districts of the world? Im totally here for it! Location is perfect for Shinkuju/Kabukicho nights (~12min walk from the station, Godzilla and KingKong just behind the corner). It was really unexchangeable experience, for VERY good money, taking into consideration the exquisite location
The location Tatami and futon
The ryokan is centrally located in Ueno and convenient for the University of Tokyo. It's a ryokan, so you get a low futon and tatami mats on the floor. They also provide you with a yukata to wear indoors. The owners are lovely, and arranged a late check-in for me without any difficulty. It is excellent value for the price.
Very comfortable ryokan type features, tatami, shoe storage downstairs and then you walk around even barefoot. Nice rooms and excellent onsen with amazingly dark water. Plenty of restaurants, bars and shops around. And the Sensoji temple is just around the corner.
Great space for 4 adults, comfortable beds, space for futon on tatami, nice living space and bathroom. Really good value for money in Tokyo. Great location close to key subway lines in quiet area of Ueno, but still close to shops and restaurants. Staff was very friendly.
Very nice. Simple, quiet but very central. We love to sleep on tatami and futon. But it is quite hard and may not be the taste of everyone.
The inn is located perfectly between Akihabara and Ueno, on walking distance of lots of sightseeing places and shops. Staff is very friendly. Nice traditional room with tatami smell. Futons are on the thin side, but there are spare ones in the closet to double up.
This Ryokan it's located just by the side of the Asakusa Temple, which is amazing to walk by at night. It's also incredibly well-located for anything you may need. I stayed at one of the cheaper Japanese rooms since I knew I was going to be out in Tokyo more than in the room, and it paid out. Sleeping in a traditional bed over tatami everything after a Tokyo outing was the best. I would definitely come back here next time. The staff was very friendly too, eager to speak and give recommendations.
We loved this place! Our room was like a small apartment with two large and comfortable western beds and a separate room with tatami floor and futon beds. Small kitchen with everything you need to cook + a large dining table. Great bathroom. The washing machine and dryer were very handy. Great location in Asakusa. Walking distance to many restaurants and Senso-ji Temple. Only a few minutes walk to subway station (Ginza line). Nice and helpful staff. Kept our luggage for free after check-out.
