The surrounding area is very peaceful and quiet. We were lucky to be able to see fujisan clearly! He also took us to a nearby Cafe which was beautiful. He took us to the station after as well, he is an amazing hardworking guy that shared hie story with us. This has been the most authentic Japanese experience we've had while being in Japan. I was not disappointed. Daruma (dog) is an absolute sweetheart and Daisuke (human) was so incredibly welcoming. I was given a map with plenty of great things to see around town and spent some evenings learning so much about Mt Fuji from Daisuke.
