We were treated each morning to an absolutely superb breakfast, and Tai was an extremely welcoming host. The place was wonderfully quiet and peaceful. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. Many thanks to Tai for making our stay so comfortable and memorable. Legend.

Attractively set in the centre of Takayama, ROMANSTAY offers a balcony, air conditioning, free WiFi and flat-screen TV. With free private parking, the property is 1.5 km from Takayama Station and 3.5 km from Hida Minzoku Mura Folk Village. The property is non-smoking and is situated 50 km from Gero Station.

The kitchenette features an oven, a microwave and a toaster and there is a private bathroom with bathrobes and slippers. The property offers mountain views.

The apartment was very clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. We stayed for one night during the Takayama festival as a couple but it can accommodate more guests. The open-air bath was fun and easy to use with privacy.

A large Japanese style sitting room and separate bedroom. Large Japanese style breakfast served in a private room. Great lobby and very friendly hosts. A 10 minute walk from the station near 1 of the tempels, a short walk from all sightseeing sites.

This was such a highlight to my holiday. The mountain view room was excellent and beautiful. Having a private bath was an excellent option due to having tattoos. The relaxation room was tranquil and welcoming. The location is easy to get to and wonderful to stroll through the town and take in the amazing culture. I never wanted to leave and I can't wait to go back.

A really special experience at this ryokan in Hida Takayama. We stayed in the suite with our own private onsen bath. Staff were very friendly and accomodating. We loved the kaiseki (traditional multi-course Japanese dinner) and breakfast.

Breakfast and dinner were amazing, highly recommended. Our accommodation was amazing and completely blew our expectations. The private onsen and garden were so peaceful. Staff were extremely polite and accommodating, making sure my partner's meals were dairy free. At check out they provided us a free shuttle to the station as it was raining (even though it would have only been a 10 minute walk)

The hotel is clean and quiet, and the staff are exceptional - the gentleman at the reception who is also driving the shuttle van was very patient with us and made our stay very pleasant. He took very good care of us and made sure we had a taxi picking us up whenever we needed it, explained what we were eating at breakfast, and how to do it properly.

We are from Taiwan, and this is an excellent traditional Japanese inn. I am very satisfied with the service, the guest rooms, and the hot springs. I suggest ordering sake during dinner and trying the famous Hōrai and Shirayumi sake, which are local specialties. Additionally, I recommend making a reservation in advance for a private hot spring bath. It offers a fantastic bathing experience, and it's very relaxing to have a glass of milk after soaking in the hot spring. Thank you for providing us with such a wonderful experience.

Quaint Ryokan, lovely staff and excellent food. Located in a quiet pretty town. Less touristy compared to Takayama.
