My favourite town in Colombia, I was supposed to stay 2 nights but added 2 more and could have stayed longer as well. The town is beautiful, people are very nice and welcoming, many amazing restaurants with veggie options as well, and plenty activities to do in the surrounding area.

Barichara is a hidden gem, one of my favorite towns in Colombia! It is a bit difficult to get to (being a 3.5 hour drive from the nearest airport in Bucaramanga), but once you are there is is divine! So clear, well-maintained, safe! There is lots to do, from hiking the Camino Real to various extreme sport excursions (paragliding, canyoning, white water rafting, etc.). But you could also just relax and meander through this charming town which feels like it is from another century. There are so many amazing restaurants, and the service is top-notch. Barichara is a very pretty and safe town small town. There are plenty of restaurants, hotels, and shops but it could use a few more points of interest. ( the paper “factory “ is great) Every person I had contact with was very pleasant, patient,and professional. It is a 100% tourism driven town and they do it right. The Tuc-Tucs are a great way to get around town. Be sure to take in the view from the Mirador. If you walk El Camino Real be sure to stop at “ the juice house !”Phillip Natowich - 10Scored 10

Barichara is a small and very beautiful pueblo style town. You can walk the town in one day but there are several things you can do like taking a 5km walk to guane, learn to make paper, learn to paint with natural soil sediments, go horseback riding and eat delicious foods. The people are nice and courteous, they don't price gouge tourists wrongly. Very scenic and beautiful.DavidColombia

Some of the best service we have ever received in a hotel, Juan's restaurant recommendations and help organising transfers and giving local advice was top tier. Breakfasts were delicious and varied, and the location was in the centre of Barichara, with a beautifully decorated room and well kept garden. The bathroom was huge and had a lovely shower. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
