Very helpful staff even though we arrived quite late, very sweet and charming lady who helped us order food for the very long hike of the day after (saved our day!). She also had many recommendations flyers about the hike, even though she didn't speak English, we appreciated this a lot! Great place to leave early for Jomon sugi 👍

It's geared up for hikers so don't expect luxury, but it has everything you need including a fully equipped kitchen. As noted in other reviews, the landlady is incredibly nice and attentive. It's right by the river and 5 min walk from the nearest bus stop. The place also seems to be a bit of a local institution. Everyone in town knew it.

We had a cracking view over the river. It’s close to a couple of beaches so you can find one for swimming and snorkelling. There are lots of cool fish! Will definitely stay again if we return to Yakushima.

They would clean my room everyday and even change the bedding. The owner is very nice. He knows the bus timetable by heart and offered hiking poles, gloves, tankan fruit and everything I needed :) Nice and clean shower too, and free access to washing machine, which is a big plus in Yakushima! Moderate walk from Miyanoura (~30 minutes, pathed and lit) or very short drive (~5 minutes). There's a bus stop a few minutes walk from the property with several buses a day going to Miyanoura and beyond (e.g. Anbo). I would love to stay here again, though next time I would hire a car to make it easier to travel without being constrained by buses.

Drove me to the nearest grocery store and also helped me to buy the correct bus ticket for Jomon sugi hike. Again, thank you very much !!! The accomodation on itself was perfect for me : It's clean and quiet. I recommend this accomodation for any travelers in Yakushima !
