We have stayed at The Lawns Guest House a few times now. It is in a great location, not far from family that we visit. It is always extremely clean and we are greeted with friendliness when booking in.

Easy walking distance from city centre/shops/sites of interest. Good facilities and quiet area. Kitchen was comprehensive and gave us many options. Having a washing machine was a bonus.

The guest house is in a quiet location so we had a good night’s sleep. We had the breakfast that came in the price. We helped ourselves but everything was set out in an orderly manner in a very pleasant dining room. Plenty of choice of teas, orange juice, some fresh raspberries, lovely fresh bread for the toaster and a selection of conserves. Everything is clean and tidy and the bed was very comfortable. The furnishings are, I would say, 1990s floral and frilly, and give a very homely feel.

Friendly and helpful staff, great location with lovely courtyard. Our room overlooked the courtyard and with the window open you could hear everything but it was quiet from around midnight. Our room was clean and nicely decorated. Check in and out was easy, even though we were late due to train delays. Everything you needed really for a couple of nights!

So glad we found this gem of an accommodation! Such a great location, big free onsite car park and good sized room. We booked a family room and were delighted that there was an internal diving wall and door so it allowed us and our teenage daughter some privacy, while safe and secure within our family unit. The guest house has two big onsite well equipped kitchens, so breakfast could be done at our own pace and we could make the food that suited us. We will definitely use again when visiting family and friends in the area.
