At the hostel, each room comes with a wardrobe. Every room comes with a safety deposit box and some rooms are equipped with garden views. At Kiwavi Home each room is equipped with bed linen and towels.

The place feels like a home: the staff is extremely friendly, it's easy to host friends, the food is very tasty and the owner is just a WhatsApp text away. We stayed there for 2 nights before our Kilimanjaro hike, and the night after. Highly highly recommend for a group of friends or solo travel!

Offering a garden and mountain view, Shimbwe Meadows Guest House is situated in Moshi, 45 km from Mount Kilimanjaro and 14 km from Moshi Railway Station. Boasting a 24-hour front desk, this property also provides guests with an outdoor fireplace. There is a sun terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking.

We had an outstanding stay at Shimbwe all made possible by the owner Victor, a beautiful lodge set with a stunning view at the foot of Kilimanjaro set into a local farm and fully integrated into the local community. We first arrived late on Easter Saturday through an ill-recommended google maps route taking us through the almost impassable river route after some very heavy rains meaning we were as good as trapped in the mud, one of the local men seeing out troubles knew we must be headed to his brother, Victor's, guest house. He called him and Victor trecked 2km though thick mud to come and drive us in our car to the lodge in the way only a local can. From here he welcomed us in late and made sure the chef could cook us some (delicious, local) food even at 11pm and proceeded to introduce us to the area and get a proper introduction to Tanzanian culture free from typical touristic tropes. We had initally only hoped to stay the night and drive on, but with the tough driving conditons and on the offer to cook and eat Easter lunch with his family we stayed on longer. Here we were totally welcomed to the local kitchen, prepared food with and enjoyed the radianty company of both his family and the local community, having guided hikes around the serene rainforest setting we had found ourselves, all organised by Victor with a beaming smile and endless good humour. He took us to local community centres, organised a party to celebrate Easter the Tanzanian way to end, and it was with with heavy hearts when we decided to leave to find Victor had had our car's tired cleaned of the mud and again driven us down the still very wet mountian he sent us on our way with great memories and an obvious highlight to our adventure. I have never been better hosted anywhere in my life, if the stunning setting, and delicious local food at incredibly cheap rates do not convince you, I would recommend to come to Shimbwe for the people alone.

A beatiful oasis I didn't expect! I was there last August and I was solo traveling. The place is marvelous! The common spaces are one of their strenghts: perfect to chill and relax. Food was delicious and big quantity, but if I had to choose just one thing, it should be the staff: always smiling and helpful. If I'm coming back to Moshi, for sure I'll come again to this cozy place, so I recommend you to do the same!

The homestay is located in a quiet location just outside Moshi. Tuktuks can be used as an inexpensive way to get around and are readily available. The accommodation was excellent super comfy bed, lovely lounge area and beautiful garden. Breakfast was amazing and varied daily. The host was the most friendly I've ever met in all my years of travel. His motivation is to make every traveller's experience memorable and stress free. Can't recommend this place enough.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It's located in a clean, quiet, suburban area of Moshi. There are a number of restaurants nearby. It's only a 7 minute Bajaj ride into town (3000 TZS). Walter is a great host. He went out of his way to make our stay comfortable. We had a lovely cooked breakfast prepared for us every day and the entire place is spotlessly clean. If you're looking for somewhere outside the craziness of Moshi, we'd definitely recommend staying here!

Peter is a great host, he is always keen to help and offers to show us around. E.g he helped us getting a SIM card, a bajaj and helped with the bustimes. We felt very safe and the place felt like home! On top of that there is an amazing kili view from the front garden, the rooms and sanitary are very hygienic and the breakfast is so good. The bedroom was very big and the mattress was comfortable.

Lovely ambiance in a quiet neighborhood at walking distance (20min) from the centre. Try to book the cottage, good value for money! Host has good connections to organize trips and transfers. Breakfast is ok, they also own a good restaurant at the border of the city with views on the Kilimanjaro 💛

Property had everything you need. Room was clean, comfortable with en-suite and toiletries provided. Breakfast was exceptional and personally prepared by Far. Far is a great host and can arrange anything for you: taxis, tours, services and local facilities. A little out of town but in a quiet area and only a short ride to anywhere. Wi-Fi was via hot spot due to some current problems with internet provider. Thank you Far for a great stay and for welcoming us to your family village. A very special experience.

Virtually unlimited coffee.Hearty mixed breakfast. Simba, the host, made me feel supremely welcome, assisted me with helpful phonecalls after my tour initially let me down.Found comfortable nearby accomodation for me when his was booked out and found a cheap reliable taxi for my sudden departure. Location is walkable distance to the town while providing a quiet retreat away from it at the same time.Really enjoyed my stay here.
