The staff are the nicest people you can meet and so very helpful! The location of the property is 5 stars, the Isso beach couple of minutes walk behind the property and the river and the green heels in front of the property. The property has some spaces for parking in front of you rent a car.

The owners of the place are the nicest people in Japan. Always helpful and caring - makes you feel like home. Our stay was great, breakfast amazing, quiet at night, very comfortable and clean.

Offering inner courtyard views, Guesthouse Coco Garage is an accommodation situated in Kirishima, 5.8 km from Kirishima Jingu Shrine and 19 km from Ebino Plateau. The guest house features rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. We spent great moments here. Inside the house, it is pretty warm. There are coffee beans and everything ready for us to make a hand drip coffee. I can’t wait to make one cup. The coffee taste so good and smooth, maybe this is selected beans. I connected the Bluetooth speaker and playing Mayumi Itsuwa’s songs. Music harmonized with the lovely chalet interior, the atmosphere is so relaxing and immersive. Kihara-san is very nice. The Shinyu Onsen he recommended is gorgeous. The hot spring water is wonderful. It is milky-white, so natural and so great. I guess it come from a sulphur spring. In the daytime, we hiked around Onamiike and Ebino Plateau. The crater lake is amazing and there are great views along the trails. At night, we do BBQ in front of the chalet. We rent a Charcoal Konro Grill set, it is really convenient. We bought some Japanese Wagyu beef for yakiniku from supermarket near Kirishima. The beef is yummy, really delicious.

Situated a 15-minute drive from Yakushima Airport, La Isla Tasse is charming accommodation housed in a large American-style mansion. Free in-room Wi-Fi is available, and guests can unwind in a spacious lounge with comfortable sofas. The owners are very kind, and the breakfast there was awesome! The view was also impressive.

A 3-minute walk from Yakushima Airport, Tomarigi offers a bunk in a dorm room, a garden with a hammock and free Wi-Fi. It has a lounge with a flat-screen TV and a DVD player, as well as a shared kitchen. The host was absolutely lovely! Even though she knew limited English, she tried her best and was extremely charming and welcoming. The facilities are very clean and it was easy to meet and socialise with the other guest. The bathroom is very good too, and you could use the shower if you're not comfortable with the Japanese bath culture of using the same water. Plus, cats are very cute too!

Very comfortable place with an awesome host in a quiet area. A free bicycle made everything in Ibusuki close and the host gave me a ride when I needed one. The stay made me feel at home and would be spacious enough for a full house. I extended my stay 2 times and keep this place in mind as one of the most heartwarming. The interior, kitchen utensils and washing machine were also very useful. Thank you so much for having me :) I had a great time!

1.2 km from Setta Beach, guesthouse minkä is a recently renovated property set in Amami and offers air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. It is situated 2.9 km from Tsuchihama Beach and provides a shared kitchen. The guest house has family rooms. The room was very different to what I’m used to in western hotels, but it was very comfortable and I slept well on the futon. Everything was clean and attractive. The hosts are a lovely family. A short anecdote from my brief stay: As it was my first time in Japan, I asked for food recommendations and they told me about a nearby restaurant. I didn’t have enough cash but I elected to withdraw money from across the street. So I drove to the restaurant, made sure it was open and there was room for me and to my surprise I found out that I had a reservation! Kindly booked by my hosts. I then went to withdraw some cash but the ATM couldn’t recognise my card, so I went back to the restaurant with the plan to just eat lightly with the limited cash I had. Then, out of nowhere, my hosts appeared at the restaurant, somehow with the knowledge that I was struggling, and offered to cover the whole dinner for me! They are kind hearted people that will do their best to make sure you enjoy your stay. I’d highly recommend this guesthouse, more so than any other I’ve visited before.
