Heliconia Island an ideal place for nature lovers. The most beautiful botanical garden of Costa Rica. Feel like you are at home in a private atmosphere. Enjoy the birds, animals, the river and walk around in the garden.

We are a very small lodge located in the middle of a beautiful botanical garden, somewhere in the Sarapiquí Rainforest. The lodge has very nice rooms, with an amazin garden view. Come a visit Sarapiquí, We will be honored to receive you.

Heliconia island is just 10 minutes from La selva biologic nature park. 20 minutes from Tirimbina natura park and national park Braulio Carrillo. There are a lot of activities like: rafting, canopy.boat trip, hiking, birding, Horse back ride. Choclate tour, frog garden, Arial tram. Visit a nice waterfall and make a hike in the jungle. On Heliconia Island we do night walks and you can start from here for a safari kayak tour on the river. It`s save to swim in the river or tubing down the island. We are 1 1/2 hrs drive from San José , 2 hrs drive from Poas vulcano, 2 hrs drive from Tortuguero. Puerto viejo de sarapiqui is only 10 min. drive.
