We LOVED this place. From the moment we parked up to being greeted by a smiley, helpful and welcoming chap, it was all amazing. The beautiful room topped it off (we had a King size room with a balcony). The wine served in the bar was delicious, as was our evening meal and breakfast. As for the location, it’s unbeatable. Can’t wait to return! Thank you Punchbowl Inn

Proper old coaching inn. We loved lounging around in the downstairs room with comfy chairs, warm fire and good coffee. Also the tipsy floor in our room was quite fun. We were by the road but the sound insulation worked well (not if you open the window!). The breakfast is excellent and the staff lovely. Woodstock is very attractive (good pubs and restaurants- Marlborough Arms doesn’t do food or draft beer) and Blenheim a stone’s throw. Easy to get the bus into centre of Oxford.

I visited the Bear Inn many years ago when it was a quaint cozy Coaching Inn. Not one fire was lit, and the ambiance of an historic Inn has vanished. Very disappointing. The staff could not have been more helpful and eager to assist. SUCH a pitty this unique setting has been wasted for profit.
