Awarded two pavilions by the Michelin Guide 2020, Hotel Alza Kyoto is located near the Kamo River and within Gion District, a 2-minute walk from Sanjo Station. This is my 3rd stay at this hotel. The room is very big & comfortable. Nice view of Kamogawa River. Location is superb close to Sanjo & Gion where so many restaurants are closed by. Also close to bus station and convenient stores.

Comfortable and spacious room, great Japanses style breakfast (personally we didn't like that type of miso soup), and super friendly staff. Hotel location is great: easy access to bus lines, and short walk from central parts of Kyoto. An extra word about the receptionist ladies' helpfulness: They helped me finding a nearby English speaking doctor, as my mosquito bite on my leg got infected. They called the clinic, which prepared for my arrival, they accepted me with no delay and gave treatment with even lower than usual visit fee. The free softdrinks were a really big plus. (
