Brand new and clean little apart-hotel unit. On quiet street half way between Kagoshimachuo station and central shopping and entertainment district, so good choice for a few day stay via Shinkansen. In room Washing machine was nice to have but no rack or provision to hang clothes (dryer feature only partially dries). Comfortable beds and good shower. Big couch and small table with large Smart TV was great. Pretty good value for new facility. Would stay again. Breakfast had a good selection of vegetables, which was nice.

Wonderful hotel with a very nice ambiente, friendly staff and stunning views of the Sakurajima volcano. Everything was great, the spa/onsen was awesome and there was even a free shuttle bus to the train station. The location is good to explore Kagoshima with a bus stop, a convenience store and a really good restaurant next to the hotel (although sometimes a taxi is needed to get around). The Hotel also has a neat small store itself with souvenirs and necessities. We would always come back and can only recommend the place.

I only stayed in Kagoshima for one day on route to Ibusuki. I was greeted at the guest house by a dentist assistant (if you’re not good with directions, don’t make my mistake and enter up the stairs on the right of the dentist office haha). Once I found my way to the actual lobby, which is in a cafe/bar, I was greeted by a very nice receptionist. I thought the large shared upstairs was very nice and comfortable. There were a couple of young, international people staying there, which was cool for a solo traveler like me.

It is a new hotel. Hotel is very generous with good quality toiletries which you can help yourself to, at the lobby. Self check-in via automated machine is efficient. Good location; near the night spots in Kagoshima and located just opposite Don Don Donki, a popular cheap chain superstore where you can get anything you need. Automated multi-story Parking is just on the right side of the hotel; note that car park entrance is just next to hotel where u have to drive into the pedestrian walkway.

The location was amazing as it was a short walk from Kagoshima Station. The walk to the stay is completely covered as well through covered mall. The surrounding area has a large selection of restaraunts while still being quiet enough for a peaceful stay. For foreigners, if you've ever wanted to try living in a Japanese Apartment, this is a great way to add some variety into your accommodation line up during your stay in Japan.

The location is central in Kagoshima - as the name suggests - and this is roughly halfway between both of Kagoshima's train stations; I liked that coffee and tea sachets (as well as other amenities) were made readily available; check out = 11am; I was happy that the window opened (unlike many in Japan) to allow some fresh air in; I could see Sakurajima from the window - although that did require turning my head...

Very comfortable place to stay. The bed is the best we've had so far in Japan (albeit the pillows are too hard and thick). The apartment is spacious, clean and has all the amenities anyone needs for a short stay. The location is superb, just a stone throw away from Kagoshima JR station, and there are plenty of car rental services nearby. Will definitely stay here again if we come back to Kagoshima.

(Edited as I accidentally wrote about the wrong hotel!) Hotel is very chic and modern, in a really handy shopping area around 1.5km from the central Kagoshima JR station. Tram stop and airport bus stop are 2min walk. Room is comfortable, with modern shower (no bath). Nice quality toiletries supplied. The massage chair was a nice extra!

Carapan is a small guesthouse with 6 rooms. The view from the common space on Sakura Jima is awesome. There is a large free parking 2 houses down, it's about 10 min drive from Kagoshima city center. The decoration is vintage, unusual in Japan and really cool. The shared bathroom is modern and functional.

Excellent location, essentially right outside Kagoshimachuo Station, with easy transport links to the rest of the city and very close to lots of food options. Room was compact as is expected in Japan, but very comfortable and well-equipped. Staff were extremely polite and helpful. I had a great stay here!

Hostel Tomal was the best place that I have stayed in Japan. It was quintessentially Japanese in style with traditional bedrooms and had everything you needed. It was centrally located and perfect for my stay. The host was so very helpful and gave me lots of information on places to see in Kagoshima.

Excellent hotel, we slept well here. Staff is super polite and helpful. Location is ideal, can be reached from inside the main train station. Room was a bit bigger than usual and very comfortable and quiet. Hotel is a little more expensive than other business hotels in Kagoshima, but well worth it.

It was my third time here. When I’m in Japan I always love to visit Kagoshima and also this hotel. The personnel are so friendly and helpful. The breakfast is great and the rooms are nice. The hotel to me is special because it was my first hotel when visited Japan for the first time.

The Hotel is really cozy, everything is new, the beds are really comfy and the Location is excellent! The owner is incredible friendly, she helped us a lot and we felt very welcome- also with our baby! We would stay there again, if we are in the future in Kagoshima.

Great affordable price, free tea in the lounge area, straightforward and relaxed staff (check-in and check-out was very stress-free). Only 3 minutes walk from Kagoshima-Chuo JR stations. Air conditioner made the room cool. Free laundry and cheap drying! Thank you.

Unfortunately I could not make the booking but my friend did. This is his comment on his stay at Hotel Lexton. Beat all expectations, comfortable bed, great facilities, great staff and located in the centre of Kagoshima. My friend was very happy with his stay!!

A nice apartment located very close to the tram station, and 20 mins of walk from the Kagoshima Chuo station. The apartment was very large compared to what hotels in Japan made me used to. It was clean and comfortable. Definitely worth its price.

Great location for food choices and scenic walks around town. Kagoshima has a long history which can be enjoyed by walking around and learning about the statues. Hotel room was decent size w a nice view. Bathroom and tub were a comfortable size.

Great location, easy to get to from Kagoshima-chuo with the tram and a short walk and very close to the ferry ports. Great view of Sakurajima Host was very welcoming and informative and very clear. Apartment had everything you would need

The staff are very friendly and make great efforts to help. The hotel is traditional with kind of unhurried pace and subtle respect to guests. Location is best especially for visitors on short visits to Kagoshima.
